The Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation (Wurundjeri Corporation) is a Registered Aboriginal Party appointed under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006. The Corporation holds statutory responsibilities for the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage and Aboriginal intangible heritage on Wurundjeri Country. Additional functions of the Corporation include, environmental land management, cross-cultural education, traditional welcome to country and smoking ceremonies, research and cultural consultations. 

Position: Administration Officer

Full-time, 2-year fixed term contract - Healesville head office with flexible work arrangements.

About the Role

The Narrap Unit is the dedicated Caring for Country unit of WWCHAC. The unit incorporates two distinct but connected programs – the Ranger Program and the Water Program - and centres itself on asserting and maintaining Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung cultural rights and responsibilities of protecting and caring for Country. The unit also creates opportunities for Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and other First Nations people to have culturally meaningful, secure work that supports professional development and the continued management of country.

The Ranger Program is focused on delivering Country restoration and management work - healing Country guides our program. Through our skilled and experienced team, the Ranger Program embeds Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country management principles and practices in Natural Resource Management (NRM). We work with an array of different clients including state government agencies and water corporations, LGAs, non-profits and the private sector. Importantly, our Ranger Program includes a path for First Nations people to develop careers in the environmental management. 

The purpose of the Administration Officer is to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Narrap Unit as well as supporting the day-to-day administration required for the operation of the Narrap Rangers. The Administration Officer will play a key role in supporting project management, reporting, operational logistics, finance processes and scheduling of crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Healesville Office team. Assisting with a broad range of administrative duties to support the general office needs, including correspondence, data entry, scheduling meetings and tracking important deadlines and operational events.
  • Managing the Narrap Administration inbox and responding to queries.
  • Monitoring and restocking Narrap office supplies.
  • Assist in preparation of Narrap Unit reports.
  • Collation of the weekly worker’s log and staff scheduling.
  • Support for staff and NRM works scheduling on the Field Assist App.
  • Support for Project Management administrative tasks.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with all Business Units, the Wurundjeri Community, Elders, and external clients.
  • Provide assistance to special projects as and when they arise. Contribute to the flexibility, agility and adaptability of your team and the wider organisation, by undertaking duties from time to time that may be in addition to those outlined above but which fall within your capabilities and experience.
  • Act as a role model for the Wurundjeri Corporation in all that you do.
  • Always have the wellbeing of self and others as a priority.

About You

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Team Administrator or Executive Assistant.
  • Experience working with logistics of a large team.
  • Experience working with First Nations Peoples.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • National Police Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
