About the role

The City of Coffs Harbour is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Materials Analyst to support the analysis and quality control of materials used in local construction and roadworks. From sampling gravel and testing concrete to supervising bitumen surfacing and supporting quarry operations, this role offers hands-on variety and real-world impact.

About you

We’re looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented candidate with a passion for construction and materials testing. You will also bring:

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction or Surface Extraction Operations, or equivalent qualification
  • EPA Radiation Licence
  • Relevant experience in gravel, aggregate, sand, soils, concrete, and bitumen sampling, testing, and reporting
  • Experience in contract supervision
  • General Construction Induction certification (Whitecard)
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence

If you have additional qualifications such as SafeWork NSW Traffic Controller or Sprayed Seal Selection & Design training, even better! We’re seeking someone who’s ready to make a tangible impact and bring expertise to every project.

What’s on offer?

  • Starting salary around $78K + 11.5% Superannuation
  • Permanent Full Time 38 hours per week
