The College is seeking a casual Instrumental Music Teacher - Guitar & Bass to commence in 2026. Highly desired qualifications and experience:

Ability to teach secondary age students across acoustic and electric guitar and bass instruments

AMEB grade 6 minimum or equivalent on principal instrument

Experience conducting and leading an ensemble

Instrumental and vocal students develop their skills through a comprehensive approach that integrates music reading and aural training, fostering confident performers proficient across various genres and styles. Instrumental lessons are complemented by weekly ensemble rehearsals and classroom music studies. Students have the opportunity to showcase their talents through the St Patrick’s College Townsville Concert Series, Eisteddfod, and other school and community performances.
An ideal candidate would share these objectives for student development, demonstrate a commitment to growing alongside the department and its programs and show an ability to be able to work in a team with other Instrumental Music Teachers and the Head of Faculty - Music & Performance.
