The Role

Whitsunday Anglican School invites applications for the position of Head of Languages Faculty with the ability to teach French.

This leadership position is responsible for guiding and supporting teachers within the Languages Faculty while overseeing the effective administration of subject programmes and practices in alignment with the School’s strategic direction. The position involves leading curriculum design and implementation, preparation of annual work programmes, unit planning, and developing high-quality teaching and learning resources.

The successful candidate will also oversee the development of rigorous assessment, monitor student progress, and foster excellence in teaching practice across the faculty.

Candidate Profile

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications

  • Registration with Queensland College of Teachers or ability to obtain

  • The ability to speak and teach French (essential)

  • Proven experience in educational leadership, particularly in managing a faculty

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experienced in QCAA subject specific curriculum processes

  • A high level of organisational and problem-solving skills 

  • A strong strategic vision and ability to implement plans effectively and creatively to inspire and engage staff and students

  • A collaborative and team-oriented approach, with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written

  • An enthusiastic commitment to participating in the School’s pastoral and co-curricular programmes
