Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and looking to make a real impact? We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Team Leader to guide our Environmental Services Team. In this dynamic role, you'll lead a talented team dedicated to driving positive environmental change through a variety of essential functions, including:
- Environmental assessments, hazard reduction, vegetation and stormwater management, and sustainability projects.
- Developing and implementing policies to protect biodiversity, biosecurity, achieve net zero goals.
- Collaborate with state agencies, stakeholders, and the community to achieve local environmental outcomes.
- Manage Council’s Community Nursery.
- Provide expert technical and legislative advice on environmental planning and compliance.

About the Position:
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or related field
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated experience in research analysis and development of environmental policy, strategy and plans relating to environmental and ecology matters
- Ability to understand and implement legislative requirements as they relate to environmental, ecological and Biobanking matters, such as the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, the Biosecurity Act 2015 and the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.
- Ability to prioritise and deliver reports, referrals and projects within reporting timelines for both internal and external stakeholders
- Deliver internal and external customer service in a timely, accurate and professional manner, effectively communicating with stakeholders, providing clear and concise information
