Our Corporate and Community Services Directorate is seeking a customer success driven individual to join their Customer Service team. Reporting to the Customer and Visitor Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering front line customer service functions to our community members and visitors across multiple channels at both Council’s Customer Service Centre in Quirindi and the Visitor Information Centre in Willow Tree. 

In this position you will be responsible for for all customer enquiries, counter transactions, requests, facility bookings, and administrative support for internal departments. The Customer Service team is dedicated to delivering an impeccable customer experience for all interactions. Your friendly personality and professional manner will be crucial in handling these tasks in an efficient manner whilst aiming to resolve enquiries at first point-of-contact wherever possible.

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Be an effective communicator
  • Prioritise teamwork and collaborative work practices
  • Have the ability to multitask and balance competing priorities
  • Provide a high standard of customer service to internal and external customers
  • Possess high attention to detail and accurate record keeping abilities
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Cash handling experience
  • Visitor information and tourism experience desirable but not essential

Please note that hours are rostered between Monday to Sunday in this role and weekend availability is required.

The Liverpool Plains Shire Council is a diverse organisation employing over 120 staff across a wide variety of fields who deliver a range of services to the local government area encompassing Blackville, Caroona, Currabubula, Pine Ridge, Premer, Quirindi, Spring Ridge, Wallabadah, Werris Creek and Willow Tree and the almost 8000 residents who reside there.

The council is situated in Quirindi, the heart of the Liverpool Plains, 65km from Tamworth and about four hours North West of Sydney, famous for its stunning landscapes and rich, highly productive land and is the perfect place to call home.

We offer a salary starting at $60,080 to $76,908 gross per annum plus superannuation. The starting salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the position.
