4x Youth Business Traineeships - 2 year duration

Eurobodalla Shire Council

Date posted: January 10, 2025

Closes: Feb 04, 2025

Calling all school leavers and people under 21 years of age! Still trying to figure out what you want to do as a career? Or how to get started? This could be just what you need to help you on your journey.

We have Traineeships up for grabs for four enthusiastic young people to undertake a business traineeship under our Youth Employment Traineeship Scheme (YETS). We’re calling it a career sampler. It’s designed to give you exposure to different possible careers whilst building valuable and highly transferrable admin skills. And for the first time ever we have opportunities in IT and Public Relations.

This two-year Business traineeship will see you rotate through two teams – a year spent in each. We have two different rotations to choose from:

  • Public Relations and Property Services Rotation; or
  • Finance and IT Rotation

These rotations will give you a good mix of administration skills, including:

  • General customer service skills – calls, emails, letters and other correspondence
  • File and record maintenance
  • Data input and analysis
  • Events and project management
  • A range of Microsoft applications

As you build these skills you will put them into practice in different ways for the different teams you work in.

And you might be exposed to a career that lights a spark for you – that you hadn’t even considered.

The traineeship will run for two years, and you will complete a Certificate III Business with TAFE (one day a week) in your first year, and a Certificate IV Business in your second.

Your most recent school report is required as part of our application process and will be necessary for your application to be processed. Please upload your school report in the online application under "Any Other supporting document".

A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History check is a requirement for these opportunities.
