Chief People Officer (CPO)

  • Manage complex Industrial Relations and Workers Compensation matters

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in senior leadership positions, particularly in HR strategy, organisational development and leading cultural transformation in diverse environments. You will have a strategic mindset with strong problem solving skills and possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, influence and connect at all levels of the organisation.

We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader with demonstrated skills in articulating vision and driving successful change initiatives.

You will champion and promote the organisation’s culture, ensuring that the values of Teamwork, Equity, Accountability, Customer Orientation and Health & Safety are reflected in every decision and process.

You will foster collaboration across divisions to ensure seamless operations and alignment with business objectives. You will also have experience developing relationships with stakeholders to ensure we are at the forefront of legislative change.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will report to the General Manager and collaborate with Directors, Executive Managers and Councillors to develop organisational goals and execute operational strategies that drive Council’s Strategic Workforce Plan.

The Chief People Officer (CPO) is responsible for:

  • The provision of strategic HR leadership and policy advice to Council
  • Defining and embedding organisational values in all aspects of work and driving cultural change across the organisation
  • Driving the evolution of a customer focussed ethic across Council operations
  • Establishing Tamworth Regional Council as an Employer of Choice
  • Attracting and retaining talent by evolving an organisational structure that provides opportunities for career growth, brings multi-disciplinary teams together, provides access to professional development and diverse rewards for hard work
  • Increasing employee engagement and productivity and evolving an environment where people enjoy coming to work.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Resources or other related field
  • Working With Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Driver’s Licence

It is also desired that our successful candidate possesses demonstrated experience in strategic workforce planning and cultural change, along with Post Graduate Qualifications in Business, Management, Psychology, Organisational Development or similar.

Salary range: Grade 25 - $169,355.99 - $183,261.58 per annum plus superannuation and the option of a leaseback vehicle, for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
