About the Role

An exceptional opportunity is available within the Health & Regulatory Services Team for a seasoned Compliance professional to join the team in addressing community enforcement needs. Reporting to the Compliance Team Leader, this role will support operational and legislative compliance initiatives and educational programs aimed at enhancing community awareness on various compliance matters.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or a minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience as a Council Compliance Officer across a range of Compliance and enforcement functions.
  • Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with proven ability to prepare complex correspondence, notices and reports.
  • Highly developed investigation and interviewing skills and extensive experience undertaking complex compliance investigations.
  • Experience in regulatory activities regime including the issuing of orders, compliance notices and Penalty Infringement Notices under the relevant Acts and Regulations.
  • Proven experience acting as a Council Compliance Officer in the Local and Land and Environment Courts including the preparation of Briefs of Evidence and giving of evidence in relation to any matter before the Court relative to the position.
  • Class C Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check Clearance or willingness and ability to obtain prior to employment.
