ADD VALUE - THE ROLE

Providing high-quality customer service to the community of Singleton through the delivery of quality Long Day Care Services, key responsibilities for the Childcare Educator - Diploma include.

  • Help plan, implement, and evaluate child-centric programs that are developmentally appropriate and culturally diverse, integrating the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Support children's learning by modeling play-based environments, participating in curriculum discussions, and suggesting changes.
  • Implement the service's philosophy in teaching and behaviour guidance, adapting as needed.
  • Ensure daily care routines are learning opportunities, employing intentional teaching strategies, and using evaluations for future planning.

Essential to this role is a Diploma in Children’s Services, or equivalent, or working towards achieving this qualification, a current Working with Children Check (WWCC), First Aid Certificate, including anaphylaxis and asthma training, previous experience in the care of children aged 0-5 and knowledge of curriculum and legislative frameworks.   

This position is offered on a term contract, part-time basis working 24 hours per week for until January 2026.

Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 8 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $34.48 - $38.79 per hour plus superannuation and other award allowances.
