About the position:

The position of Manager Corporate Compliance is a key influential advisor to Managers, Directors and the CEO at the City. This role is responsible for managing, developing and continuously improving the Governance, Procurement and Risk and ensuring a high-quality service delivery to all areas of the organisation, closely aligned to the strategic priorities of the City.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic and effective leadership of teams and officers that provide or facilitate the provision of governance, procurement, risk management and legal services to the City.
  • Plan, facilitate and oversee the establishment and effective maintenance of formal records, registers and processes that are required to ensure Council, Councillor and City Administration compliance with all mandatory provisions of Local Government legislation.
  • Responsible for formal reporting of Compliance in accordance with Local Government legislation, regulations and formal guidelines.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the City defines and actively manages its risk profile and implements treatment plans to mitigate its risks.
  • Assume overall monitoring responsibility for the City’s insurance scheme including an effective claims management system for the purpose of recording, managing and monitoring claims against the City.
  • Responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Council Election process and polls and referenda.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will ideally hold a degree in Business Management, Law or Risk and/or relevant field and relevant experience, or lesser qualification with significant experience. Additionally, applicants should have significant experience in managing multi-disciplined professional teams delivering internal corporate compliance services.

Applicants who have comprehensive knowledge, skills and extensive experience in a similar role but do not have formal qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

This role is offered as a five (5) year fixed term contract. A salary package of up to $182,428.27 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
