Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a passionate Project Manager to join Council's Planning & Development team. 

  • Permanent and full-time career opportunity! (35 hours per week)
  • Attractive Salary ranging from $105,118.00 up to $120,900.00 (PLUS Superannuation) depending on qualifications and experience.

  • Project Planning and Management: Oversee all aspects of project planning, development, and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with Council policies, standards, and statutory guidelines.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, provide timely updates, manage issues, and ensure alignment with community and organisational goals.

  • Risk and Quality Management: Identify and manage project risks, maintain quality assurance standards, and ensure safety, compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Procurement and Delivery Oversight: Manage contracts, oversee tender processes, monitor contractor performance, and ensure successful completion, handover, and defect liability resolution of projects​.

You will have a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and oversee multiple projects while ensuring successful outcomes. You are also a strong communicator who values stakeholder engagement and fosters collaboration within teams and communities.

WHAT SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE DO YOU NEED?

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager who will play a pivotal role in the implementation of construction and infrastructure projects within the Moree Plains Shire. The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in Project Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have extensive experience in project management, including procurement, contract management, and site supervision.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of local, state, and federal building and planning regulations, as well as WHS legislation.
  • Possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors, stakeholders, and the community.
  • Be committed to safety, quality, and delivering outcomes that benefit the community.

Essential requirements include a valid NSW Class C Driver Licence and White Card (General Construction and Induction), along with the ability to undertake necessary pre-employment checks and training.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

We offer a comprehensive package designed to reward your expertise and dedication:

  • Base Salary: $2,021.50 - $2,325.00 per week, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Superannuation: 11.5% employer contribution.
  • Additional Leave:
    • Long service leave after 5 years of employment.
    • Flexible working arrangements with a rostered day off every 3 weeks, providing an additional 17 days off per year.
    • 4 weeks of annual leave with the option to purchase additional leave.
    • 15 days of sick leave annually.
