As the Planning & Design Engineer, you will provide expert engineering design and technical expertise including engaging with developers from an engineering services perspective and the investigation and delivery of infrastructure design projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage and control the delivery of engineering designs for Council’s infrastructure projects in accordance with Australian Standards, Orange City Council Development and Subdivision Code and Transport for NSW requirements
• Lead the design team
• Manage design consultants to ensure they provide practical, cost effective and timely solutions including on development standards and design requirements
• Prepare and/or provide strategic advice on engineering computations, estimates and contract specifications for roads, stormwater, water and sewerage, parks and other infrastructure projects

About you:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or associated discipline
• Extensive experience in a similar role e.g. public works engineering design
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
• High level communication skills
