ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced individual to join our People and Culture team. Reporting to Council’s Coordinator People and Culture, this role will coordinate Council’s apprenticeship, traineeship and cadetship program. The position plays a key role in overseeing the training progress, development, and wellbeing of Council’s apprentices, trainees and cadets through the provision of ongoing support and guidance.
To be successful you will bring

- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Education, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) industry specific to traineeship and apprenticeship programs.
- Demonstrated understanding of the NSW apprenticeship and traineeship system
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors, training providers, and external partners.
- Understanding of the obligations of employers, apprentices, trainees and cadets.
- Strong attention to detail for record-keeping, tracking progress, and managing competing priorities.
- Proven high level communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to build rapport and provide support and guidance to trainees and apprentices.
- Flexibility to conduct site visits.
The rewards
- An annual salary range of $68,700 to $78,900 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
- 19 day month working arrangement. Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Subject to operational requirements, full time office staff will have access to a nine day fortnight, with a thirty minute lunch break. For the duration of the trial arrangement, staff will also have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational requirements and approval.
