About the role
This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at the Nowra Administration Building.

Reporting directly to the Building and Compliance Coordinator, this position is responsible for:

  • Organising the inspection, testing and maintenance of statutory compliance measures within Council Buildings.
  • Collaborating with the Building Compliance Officer in the process of submitting Annual Fire Safety Statements
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining various maintenance schedules
  • Recording data and producing reports to ensure accurate and timely documentation in support of the Annual Fire Safety Statement process
  • Liaising with contractors to Council, following Procurement guidelines and ensuring that applicable Work Health and Safety procedures are followed when attending sites

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • Further education (Diploma or Certificate IV) in Business, Construction, Engineering, Project Management or equivalent related experience.
  • Trade qualification
  • Demonstrated knowledge & experience in relation to fire safety certification processes & relevant National Construction Codes, Building Codes and Australian Standards
  • Experience in procurement processes and contractor engagement
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
  • Demonstrated high level competency in the use of spreadsheets and word processing software – preferably MS Office
