This is a permanent full-time position.
Salary from $69,916 up to $82,811 per annum plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Plant Operative to join our Workshop team. In this position you will use your experience and skills to operate and drive plant, trucks and equipment to support the Workshop operations and maintenance function of our City Works Division.
This role gives you the opportunity of rotational work, consisting of working within teams across the workshop, as well as operating a tilt-tray and fuel truck as an individual controller. You will interact with a variety of stakeholders throughout Council's many departments.
What you will be doing:
- Supporting and assisting our Workshop Trades in both Mechanical & Fabrication areas in the Workshop and field based.
- Operating the Tilt Tray to pick up and deliver Plant, Equipment, Trucks, vehicles and materials including the safe loading/unloading and securing of loads.
- Operating the Fuel Truck to safely deliver and refuel Plant & equipment at various sites throughout the LGA including Whytes Gully Waste Facility.
- Repairing and fitting of Tyres on a range of Plant, Trucks and vehicles using Heavy duty tyre equipment in the Workshop and Field based.
- Carrying out General Workshop operational duties including cleaning and maintenance duties to support Workshop operations
This role requires availability to work flexible hours including shift work and callout for emergency and programmed maintenance when required.
This is a hands-on role; you must be physically fit and capable of undertaking duties as described in the job description
About you:
You are an experienced Truck and/or Plant Operator that has a workshop background. You are a flexible team member who thrives on collaboration, as well being an independent worker. You enjoy the variety of working on a modern, diverse fleet and adapt well to changing needs and challenges. You have a willingness to participate in continuous learning to maintain knowledge and acquire new skills of mechanical equipment operation and industry best practices. You are a leader in safety and fulfill your obligations in all areas of WHS.
