The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the operation and maintenance of the premier recreational facilities with a key focus on the Casino Showgrounds and the Northern Rivers Rail Trail in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain the showgrounds and rail trail facilities in a clean, neat, tidy, and attractive condition, in accordance with required maintenance programs. Ensuring equipment and tools are maintained and operating safely
- Undertake thorough inspections and condition assessments of the Showgrounds and Rail Trail assets and facilities, ensuring they meet the relevant safety requirements and any information provided to the team is of a high standard
- Understand and monitor relevant welfare and bio-security regulations relating to the operation of the facilities, ensuring compliance and reporting issues
- Create and maintain a collaborative and positive relationship with user groups, community members, volunteers and participate in the likely creation of a Showgrounds Advisory Committee
- Communicate with stakeholders and user groups to ensure compliance with site requirements, risk management, event preparation requirements and anticipating and resolving issues
- Contribute to accurate reporting processes and maintaining accurate records of bookings of the facilities in accordance with Council procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team, helping to support the delivery of the team’s objectives
- Contribute to a positive safety culture within the team to ensure a safe workplace for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of capital and maintenance works
This role will be varied and will require a level of physical fitness to undertake tasks such as cleaning, manual handling, and managing the upkeep of the buildings, gardens and grounds. In this role, you will also perform duties such as security, managing the use of showgrounds and rail trail facilities, organising maintenance and repair and being the point of contact ‘front face’ of the facility/community liaison.

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:
- General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
- Class C Driver Licence
About the Role
Full time: 70-hour fortnight
Salary: Range from $58,151 to $66,872 pa + 11.5% super
