This is a six-month Term Contract Position with the possibility of extension. Salary from : $94,112.54 up to $105,571.26 per annum plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

Are you passionate about graphic design ? Are you a highly creative, motivated, positive, team player, who loves to collaborate and work with various stakeholders?
Join our dynamic team of Graphic Designers and play both a strategic and supportive role in servicing the Graphic Design requirements across Wollongong City Council's, including print, digital and signage. This opportunity will see you working collaboratively with teams across our organisation, delivering graphic design projects to the highest standard. This includes working closely with the Communications and Marketing team to jointly deliver the majority of Wollongong City Council's design, marketing and communication messaging and collateral.
This role encompasses the entire Graphic Design practice from providing guidance at the initial job brief through to designing and presenting concepts to clients, to negotiating changes and approvals, and supplying final artwork for digital upload, press and signage output. You will work closely with your team and Art Director in the Wollongong City Council Administration building to ensure that all the work you produce aligns with all Wollongong City Council corporate brand standards.
You'll be juggling multiple projects at any one time, often with challenging and conflicting deadlines. It is essential to be fluent in the use of Adobe Creative suite, and you'll need to demonstrate an understanding of various corporate IT systems including job tracking software and Microsoft Office applications.
Exciting key projects that you will be working on will include designing for:
- Wollongong City Council (WCC) corporate branded campaigns including WCC Community Engagement, Waste Services and Lifeguards
- Various WCC corporate communications projects including community newsletters and infrastructure updates
- Various events including New Years Eve, Australia Day, Seniors Week, Christmas in the CBD, Carols, and Giving Tree
- Signage - Regulation, wayfinding, information, identification and promotional signage for all of WCC's Corporate services, business units, sub brands, and events
- Wollongong City Libraries
- Wollongong City Gallery
- Illawarra Performing Arts Centre
- Destination Wollongong
- Wollongong Botanic Garden
- Wollongong Tourist Parks
- Wollongong Memorial Gardens
- The Vale Golf Course
- Invest Wollongong
About you
You are a creative professional with a keen eye for detail who enjoys transforming ideas into visually engaging designs. You have excellent people and collaboration skills to work closely with stakeholders to ensure each project is successful by adapting to difference styles and feedback across various areas of the organisation.
