We are looking for a keen and skilled Operator to help keep Walcha the most beautiful regional town in NSW.

The Position

This position is required to carry out a variety of tasks associated with the construction, upkeep and maintenance of Council's parks and gardens facilities

About You

You will be an experienced operator of small plant and machinery with a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful public spaces. You will be able to follow maintenance plans and schedules, and be able to work as a valued member of a small high performing team, and work independently as required.

You will be able to demonstrate safe working practises and good time management abilities in addition to your knowledge of trimming, pruning and upkeep of our trees and plants in numerous gardens all over Walcha.

What we Offer

This is initially a part time position which will transition to a Term full-time position (38 hours per week) starting at $1044.70 per week (gross), based on the Local Government (State) Award 2023.

The pay is negotiable based on your experience and qualifications. You will enjoy one RDO every fortnight. You will be working as a valued member within a friendly, supportive and encouraging environment, and your responsibilities and actions will reflect Walcha Council’s core values of teamwork, respect, customer first focus and willingness to carry out assigned tasks.
