Find purpose and impact

As a Ranger, you'll play an essential role in facilitating and delivering community education programs to enhance compliance with legislation. In this hands-on role where no two days are the same, you'll handle companion and
livestock animals and address pollution issues. We are looking for candidates with strong communication
and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to work both independently and
as part of a team. You will have a strong understanding of legislation and investigation requirements. This role also takes part in a rotating on-call roster, and we currently have two positions available, one in Dubbo and one in Wellington. If you’re passionate about protecting our community and

You'll make an impact by:

  • Enforcing animal and pollution control measures
  • Developing and implementing a range of community education programs to improve compliance
    with legislation
  • Impounding animals, vehicles and articles as required
  • Enforcing compliance and legislation on illegal
    activities, such as illegal dumping, noise pollution, companion animals, and overgrown
    properties

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Certificate IV Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent experience/qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to handle companion animals and other animals
  • Well-developed computer literacy and administration skills
  • High level written and verbal communication skills including conflict resolution and report writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation and policy relevant to the position

We would also love you to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a regulatory and
    compliance role
  • Experience in investigations and statement
    taking

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $71,401 to $82,981.
