The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to ensure that the Council’s procurement, purchasing, contracts, and finance operations comply with established policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and standards. This role involves overseeing the implementation of compliance programs, managing reporting activities, monitoring effectiveness, and recommending improvements to uphold the Council's mission of serving the Bega Valley Shire community with integrity, transparency, and efficiency.
As a Procurement Compliance and Reporting Officer, you will be responsible for managing all reporting activities related to procurement, purchasing, contracts, and finance. You will also identify, develop, and maintain templates and tools essential for effective purchasing and procurement processes.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a Certificate IV (or higher) in purchasing, procurement, tendering, contracts, or a related field, or is committed to obtaining such a qualification. The candidate should also have prior experience in reading and interpreting legal agreements or similar documents.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- In-depth understanding of public sector governance, legislative compliance, and procurement policies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure adherence within the Procurement and Contracts team.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, as well as standard computer software applications including Microsoft suite and financial management systems.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex compliance requirements in a clear and understandable manner.
- Proven ability to develop and implement compliance monitoring programs and reports, and to identify and address any areas of non-compliance providing insights and recommendations as needed.
Benefits
This is a fixed term full time position working 35 hours per week for a period of 2.5 years.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $84,731.97 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1,461.40 per week base salary
- $168.06 per week superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)
