The Opportunity

We have multiple opportunities for enthusiastic individuals to assist with the operation, maintenance and construction of water and sewerage infrastructure to recognised health, environmental and BVSC standards.

As a Water and Sewer Trainee, you will undertake a Certificate III in Water Operations and apply theoretical learnings to workplace activities. You will assist with the operation, monitor and maintenance of all facets of the area’s water and sewerage infrastructure, including maintenance and repairs to water trunk mains, reticulation mains and property service lines.

In return, you will be supported in completing your studies and practical training for the duration of a two year traineeship through a structured training plan.

About You

We are seeking individuals who have completed a minimum of Year 10 level education and hold a General Construction Induction (White Card).

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Demonstrated analytical and investigative ability, to assist in the resolution of operational problem in the field.
  • Ability to participate in the laying / repairing of water and sewer mains and associated construction activities.
  • Ability to develop fault-finding skill techniques as appropriate to water supply and sewerage systems.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Benefits

These are fixed term full time positions working 38 hours per week for a period of two (2) years.

The total remuneration package for this position is between $27,134.64 and $46,575.33 gross per annum, comprising of:

  • Between $468 and $803.30 per week base salary
  • Between $53.82 and $92.38 per week superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)

Remuneration for this package is based on the age and level of schooling achieved by the successful candidates.
