About the role
Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre is seeking an organised and proactive Operations Coordinator to oversee the technical and facilities management aspects of our vibrant venue.
In this pivotal role, you will lead a dedicated team of theatre technicians and custodians, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality events and shows for clients and patrons.
Key responsibilities include liaising directly with customers, coordinating staffing and scheduling for performances, maintaining and overseeing lighting, audio/video and technical requirements as well as ensuring solutions are in place to meet the customer’s needs for each show or event.
Alongside this, you will also be responsible for overall facilities management of the venue, ensuring that our venue remains safe, clean, and fully operational for all staff and visitors.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional communication abilities, a history in managing technical staff and operations within a venue, alongside a passion for the performing arts.
You will play a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for clients, performers and audiences while fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.

Key Requirements
- Minimum four years’ experience in a similar role
- Relevant knowledge and experience in technical production, venue operations or similar
- Detailed understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation as it applies in theatre and public venues
- Problem solving, planning skills and a solution orientated attitude
- Ability to advise on the maintenance and technical requirements of the venue
- Ability to communicate effectively
- A desire and ability to work in a team environment
- Current C class drivers’ licence
- Knowledge of technology in all aspects of the role

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.
Salary: $1,688.75 to $1,774.24 per week + weekend and public holiday penalty loading (when applicable) + superannuation
Position Status: Permanent Full Time
Hours of work: 38 hours per week, Monday to Sunday
