ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
Council is offering a great opportunity for a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic individual to support and empower a team of workers with low to medium support needs to contribute to the achievement of Council’s nursery initiatives. The position will support Council in fostering an inclusive environment, enabling the team to efficiently and effectively engage in nursery activities.
To be successful you will bring
- Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council's values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
- Horticulture Trade certificate and previous experience in a relevant horticulture field.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of a nursery.
- Proven experience in the supervision of staff with low to medium support needs together with a commitment to Disability Standard Employment requirements.
- Demonstrated sound communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of and commitment to quality assurance systems and processes required by Family and Community Services.
The rewards
- A salary range of $72,900 to $83,600 per annum (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills and experience. This incorporates the payment of five hours of approved overtime per fortnight according to Council’s Annual Salary Agreement.
- 9 day fortnight working arrangement. Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Full time field staff will have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational and team based requirements and approval.
