About the role(s)

Join our ded­i­cat­ed team at the Ani­mal Shel­ter, a vital facil­i­ty for the wel­fare of ani­mals in Cen­tral Australia and make a positive impact on the lives of our furry and feathered friends.

We are seek­ing com­pas­sion­ate Ani­mal Atten­dants to sup­port our day-to-day oper­a­tions.  We have various roles available (full-time, part-time and casual), where you will take an active part in ensur­ing the well-being of a vari­ety of ani­mals while pro­vid­ing excep­tion­al ser­vice to our com­mu­ni­ty. If you’re pas­sion­ate about ani­mal care and com­mu­ni­ty engage­ment, we want to hear from you!

What you'll be doing

  • Undertake regular care and cleaning duties, including animal feeding and cleaning of cages, to a consistently high level across a 7-day roster.
  • Contribute to the welfare of all animals in the care of the Animal Shelter, including notifying the Senior Animal Attendant of any requirement for veterinary intervention and care. Assist with required care, including the humane destruction of animals as required.
  • Undertake cleaning duties to maintain a clean and safe working environment. This includes the provision of laundry services, and the cleaning of the front office.
  • Act as a point of contact for visitors to the Animal Shelter, providing a high level of customer service to all.
  • Follow all processes required for the safe and effective operation of the Animal Shelter.
  • Provide coverage for front desk duties as required.

  • Competitive salary of $68,532.16 p/a exclu­sive of super­an­nu­a­tion plus dis­trict allowance — $ 2611 w/​dependents, $1498 w/​o depen­dents (pro rata).                                                                                       Casual rate starting at $41.62 per hour.
