Are you a future Maternal and Child Health Nurse? Mildura Rural City Council offers a unique work and study opportunity for students currently or prospectively enrolled in a post graduate Child Family and Community tertiary course in Victoria.

 

This opportunity provides a nursing professional with a supportive and professional environment as they transition into a Maternal & Child Health Nursing career. In this role, you will be working alongside our skilled Nurses gaining valuable hands-on experience as we support you in completing your qualification. In addition to workplace support, this position also offers several attractive financial benefits to assist with course fees and any other education or study costs related to the course being studied.

 

This position will require the successful applicant to work 96 hours within a four (4) week work cycle.

About the Opportunity
Providing effective Community Health Services within the guidelines established by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and the Department of Health Services and in accordance with policy guidelines established by Council. This Service aims to provide an efficient Maternal and Child Health and Immunisation function primarily to all infants and parents who reside within the Mildura Rural City Council.

 

What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

  • Registered Nurse Division 1 (AHPRA)
  • Registered Midwife (AHPRA)
  • Enrolled in Post Graduate course leading to Victorian registration as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse
  • Preferred current IBCLC Certification or working towards
  • Current Immunisation Provider (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Driver’s Licence (Unencumbered)
  • Current Police Check and Working with Children Check


Salary and conditions

Remuneration will be determined based on relevant skill level and qualifications, in accordance with the Nurses (ANF Victorian Local Government) Award 2015, MRCC Enterprise Agreement and Local Area Work Agreement.
