About the role

Join our City Centre team at Wollongong City Council! We are a small team with an exciting opportunity to contribute to delivering a place-based approach to the management of the Wollongong CBD and the Mall Activation Program.

You will utilise your customer service skills and experience as the first point of contact for the team. This includes communicating with, assessing and responding to the needs of both internal and external stakeholders, including the business community.

With your high- level administrative skills and knowledge, you'll undertake procurement and reconciliation tasks, assist with contract management, and maintain record keeping and customer systems/databases. You'll utilise your strong software skills for the preparation of general correspondence, presentations, directories and other complex documents.

In a dynamic environment, your time management and process improvement skills will enable you to deliver efficient and effective administrative systems and processes.

This is a part-time, permanent position working 28 hours per week (4 days per week). Salary from $44.09 per hour up to $48.69 per hour, plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications). This is a hands-on role, applicants must be physically capable of undertaking manual tasks relating to the role.

What you will be doing:

In this dynamic role, you will provide specialised skills/administrative support to the City Centre Management Team. You will support the team in achieving business objectives, exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality. With your customer focus, you'll assess internal and external stakeholders/customers' needs, and adopt a solution-based approach. This role will also see you support procurement processes such as purchase requisitions, purchasing and goods receipting. Supporting the delivery of the Mall Activation Program, you'll ensure the restocking of the Mall Book Box.

About you

You are customer focused and team oriented. With your initiative and problem-solving skills, you bring a solutions-based approach.

Your experience with financial systems, strong reconciliation skills and your experience with internal systems allows you to learn new systems quickly. You are organised and bring time management skills, a keen eye for attention to detail and high-level administration experience. You are excited about learning, and working with a broad team, allowing for creativity and adjusting to the needs of the community.
