About the role

We are investing in our largest ever maintenance, operation and construction program and are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Maintenance Manager!

Reporting to the Manager City Works, you will be responsible for the innovative and effective leadership of the Civil Maintenance portfolio. The role provides a unique opportunity to combine your leadership skills, maintenance knowledge and civil engineering experience to lead a large and diverse civil maintenance team, supporting our infrastructure and planning teams to deliver excellent customer service. The role requires a strong leader who thrives in a fast paced environment. You will be an articulate communicator with influencing and negotiation skills that enable engagement across all levels of the business, our community and key stakeholders.

You will broaden your understanding of the role Local Government plays in our community. You will also work with a friendly and professional team who are values-led and committed to collaborating with the community and across a range of Council services and teams to deliver quality outcomes and an extraordinary Wollongong. Success in this role will be demonstrated through your ability to lead strategically, drive cultural change and achieve high quality outcomes and results supporting our community strategic plan

This is a permanent full-time position. Salary from: $135,978 up to $160,175 per annum plus superannuation and an option of a motor vehicle equalisation allowance ($10,779.60 pa) OR a lease for private use of a motor vehicle. A 3.5% Civil Liability allowance may also apply. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

About you

We're looking for an energetic leader with extensive experience in civil asset maintenance and management. With a strong background in leadership, you thrive in managing teams, projects, and operations to achieve exceptional results.

Your deep understanding of WHS, environmental management, and relevant legislation allows you to ensure safe and compliant work environments. You possess a proven track record in project management, financial oversight, and contract management, coupled with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with operational goals.

Your expertise in civil infrastructure, risk management, and the maintenance of public assets enables you to drive efficient service delivery while ensuring long-term asset sustainability. Your qualifications in civil engineering or a related discipline, combined with your practical experience, equip you to lead in both strategic and hands-on capacities.

As a natural problem solver, you excel in identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance performance across all areas of asset maintenance.

You're passionate about fostering a positive team culture, mentoring staff, and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver high-quality services that benefit the community.
