Team Leader Management Accounting
Salary Ranging $109,450.12 - $127,198.76 per annum + 11.5% Superannuation (Depending on Experience & Qualifications)
35-hour Work Week with a Variable Day off Every 19 days

 

The Opportunity

Lead the Management Accounting team and provide financial expertise to managers and staff to support sustainable decision-making and maximise the financial performance of Council. Contribute to the effective administration of the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act in relation to the preparation and review of Council’s budget and associated plans. Provide accurate and timely information and business partnering to Council’s Senior Management Team and senior staff. Oversee the key financial models that underpin Council’s Long Term Financial projections.

Essential Criteria

  1. Degree in Finance or Business (Accounting Major).
  2. Demonstrated experience in a similar accounting position, with the ability to prepare and review complex financial models and reports.
  3. Demonstrated experience in managing and motivating a team.
  4. Extensive knowledge and experience in applying accounting policies, principles and accounting standards.
  5. Demonstrated experience to work across the organisation to understand business requirements as applicable to budgeting
  6. Demonstrated experience to drive change through policy, procedural and system improvements.
  7. A high level of interpersonal, presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills, analytical and problem-solving
  8. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. High attention to detail and ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently and to deadlines.
  10. Hold a Current C Class Drivers Licence
  11. Be willing to undergo a National Police Check before commencement
