The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of traffic control services in the construction and maintenance of Council's roads and drainage infrastructure in line with Council's delivery and operational plans.

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead the team to deliver safe and effective traffic control services in accordance with provided work zone traffic management plans and in accordance with the Traffic Control at worksites manual and Council’s category ‘G’ registration
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and setup Traffic Control Plans (TCP’s)and carry out ongoing checks of integrity of implemented devices
  • Assist in the pre planning, programming and delivery of routine works including post works record keeping requirements
  • Make modifications to traffic management plans provided by others in accordance with established and recognised standards when required
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture within the organisation through completion of required documentation, reporting incidents/hazards/near misses and contributing to team discussions
  • Initiate and encourage innovative work practices and procedures whilst maximising utilisation of resources
  •  Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner

About You

We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual. Someone who -

  • Is flexible, adaptable and responsive to change 
  • Has an eye for detail and can deliver quality outcomes
  • Is a strong communicator with a safety focus

We are seeking someone who has:

  • Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
  • Class MR Driver Licence
  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller
  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Implement Traffic Control Plans

About the Role

Full time: 76-hour fortnight (with opportunities for overtime)

Salary: Range from $56,217 to $64,651 pa + 11.5% super
