Fleet Procurement Officer

Looking to procure a new role? 

The Fleet Procurement Officer is responsible for maintaining a coordinated and consistent approach to fleet procurement, maintaining consistent replacement of Vehicles and Plant to ensure Council’s program of works can be delivered on time and budget. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure adherence to RVC procurement policy and procedures for all vehicles, plant and equipment procured by Council
  • Liaise with operational staff to develop specifications for new or replacement vehicles and plant
  • Liaise with procurement bodies, including Local Government Procurement, Regional Procurement & Procurement Australia to leverage lower cost, sustainability and reduced risk in fleet procurement related activities conducted by Council
  • Implement fleet related programs that identify cost savings and/or improved environmental outcomes for Council and the Northern Rivers area
  • Assist in operations of fleet related activities such as registration, CTP insurance, roadside assistance, fuel cards and management of the RVC leaseback fleet
  • Assist other sections of the procurement team as/when required
  • Ensuring Council’s values and behaviours are represented by the actions of the procurement department and wider Council body

About You

We are looking for a motivated team player who is passionate and knowledgeable about anything with wheels. You -

  • Have an exceptional eye for detail
  • Have a good understanding of budgets
  • Are committed to delivering the best outcomes for the community

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

  • Fleet Management qualification (i.e., IPWEA Fleet Management Certificate) or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Certificate IV in Procurement or similar (or significant experience in a similar procurement environment)
  • Class C Driver Licence

Full time: 70 hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $68,135 to $78,353 pa + 11.5% super
