About the Opportunity

 

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Liveable Communities team as a Community Engagement Officer. To help us achieve this we are looking for someone who is a highly organised team player with demonstrated experience in community engagement and excellent communication skills. You will use your initiative to build strong relationships and help facilitate community involvement in decision making.

On a typical day this role will:

  • Plan and undertake engagement with our community on a vast range of projects and programs.
  • Engage with the community through a variety of methods across our Local Government Area.
  • Support organisational engagement and build relationships with our community.
  • Work across the organisation to support engagement for all projects and their communication requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field or extensive experience in community engagement.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in data analysis and communications including presentations to large groups.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Local Government experience is desirable but not essential.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week

Salary (exclusive of super): In the range of $86,777 to $$97,681 depending on skills and experience

The Liveable Communities Team

The Liveable Communities Team is about connecting with the community including all residents and visitors to ensure that the Port Macquarie Hastings region is an inclusive and vibrant place for everyone. This group is comprised of our LGA community engagement, library services, education, recreation planning and delivery, community building/facilities, culture and community inclusion.

The region is one of Australia's most enviable locations. We boast a stunning hinterland, kilometres of pristine beaches, national parks, playgrounds, sporting facilities, restaurants, galleries, theatres and a genuine community vibe.
