Casual Swim Programs Instructors are an important and highly valued part of our Leisure and Pools team, ensuring we can offer continuity of service in the absence of our permanent staff and providing high quality swim programs to meet the needs of our community.
As part of our Casual team you will play a key role as you connect with learn to swim customers of all age groups delivering our contemporary and high quality swim programs.
We are looking for professional, team oriented and highly motivated individuals who enjoy being part of a diverse team, and understand the importance of a positive customer experience. Our casuals have a great opportunity to get to know all of our Swim Programs teams from Peninsula Leisure Centre Woy Woy to Toukley Aquatic Centre and enjoy variety in the teams, tasks and days and times worked.
Successful applicants will be employed on a casual day-to-day basis. Shifts will be available Monday to Sunday, morning and afternoon. Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
Key activities of this role include:
- Deliver high quality swim programs to enable participants to achieve their personal development goals and improve the swimming skills of the community;
- Deliver swim programs as per Central Coast Councils Learn to Swim Program guidelines and lesson plans as directed by the Crew Leader;
- Continually review and keep track of participants' progress;
- Ensure the participant safety at all times through provision of safe activities and continual surveillance of swim class members;
- Prepare lessons and equipment as instructed.
Essential requirements include:
- Current AUSTSWIM qualification in teaching of swimming and water safety or Swim Australia Teacher (SAT) or Swim Coaching qualifications or equivalent;
- Provide Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID 001 / HLTAID 009);
- Working with Children Check Clearance Number or Application Number as per Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013 (if over 18) or willingness to obtain prior to any offer of employment;
- Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality swim programs of various levels or demonstrated previous experience in coaching swimming;
- Demonstrated ability to embrace change and commitment to work across multiple work locations.
It is the responsibility of successful applicants to undertake a course of Hepatitis B and Tetanus vaccinations or to demonstrate their immunity prior to commencement of employment.
