Your impact

Jacobs Energy & Power Advisory team is seeking a strategic Technical Lead to bolster our Energy Market Modelling capability. In this exciting role, you will shape and deliver growth strategies across the Asia Pacific region, with a core focus on Australia. Leveraging deep technical expertise and commercial insight, you will lead high impact client projects, mentor a team, and innovate solutions that accelerate the energy transition. This opportunity with have the following key areas of focus

Technical expertise

Develop sophisticated energy models to forecast market trends and inform policy decisions.Provide technical expertise in areas such as market studies, cost-benefit review, and energy policy.Undertake policy studies and apply economic theory to energy markets.

Project Management and Business Development

Manage the development and execution of commercial proposals focused on energy market modelling.Identify, secure, and deliver strategic advisory projects in the energy markets space and energy transition services.

Collaboration and Team Development

Collaborate with our team of engineers, economists, and data analysts to solve techno-economic problems in the future power sector.Mentor and develop team members

Here's what you'll need

A relevant tertiary degree in economics, mathematics, statistics/data science, or engineering.Proven experience in energy market modelling, ideally with prior exposure to Battery Energy Storage System modelling.Proficiency in data analytics tools including Python, R, SQL, PLEXOS, and Excel.Strong quantitative modelling skills and research acumen.Expertise in energy/regulatory frameworks applicable to power generation and distribution.Knowledge of related industries and technologies such as natural gas, liquid/low carbon fuels, and electricity transmission (advantageous).Ability to foster positive communication, mentor others, articulate complex problems, and use sound commercial acumen to enable a solution focused approach.We look forward to receiving your application by close of business Tuesday 25 November 2025
