We offer a positive work culture, a basic work week of 35 hours, 13.5% superannuation above the mandatory amount and an excellent working environment in Henderson, located in the City of Cockburn. 

About the role:

Service Technician in the Marine Industry primarily involved with repair, overhaul and maintenance of Naval vessel installed equipment including Propellers & Shaft lines, Stabilizers & Steering Gear. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct fitting, repair, and maintenance work aboard naval vessels, focusing on propellers, shaftlines, stabilisers, and steering gear systems.

  • Perform tasks both on-site at Henderson and in the local workshop close to the site.

  • Work under the instruction of Site Manager and Service Engineers.

  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.

  • Assist with ship dockings, including occasional interstate travel when required.

  • Ensure all work is completed to high standards and in accordance with safety regulations.

  • Potentially participate in development opportunities to progress to the Service Engineer level and travel overseas for specialized product training.

  • Work on commercial ships when required.

You must have:

  • Trade qualification as: Engine Mechanic / Diesel Fitter / Marine Fitter / Fitter & Turner / Machinist 

Additional preferences considered advantageous:

  • Rigging certification, or willing to obtain.

  • Hydraulic system experience 

  • Heavy industry experience

  • Shipyard / Marine experience

  • High risk licenses (Forklift, EWP, Confined space and Working at heights)

Other Information

  • Work Days per week: 5 (days)

  • Working Hours: 7am – 3pm (generally)

  • Base Salary will be commensurate with working experience

  • One rostered day off per month, separate from annual leave.

  • Must have own transport
