This role provides independent oversight, challenge and advice on major change initiatives across the organisation. You will strengthen risk culture, ensure alignment to risk appetite, and embed compliance-by-design principles across technology, cyber, data, operational and business transformation programs.

You will support uplift of Line 1’s capability, strengthen risk culture, and guide risk and change reviews across major tech, cyber, data and operational transformation initiatives. You’re not just executing risk activities; you’re shaping them.  You will be a key enabler of meaningful, technology-driven change.

What will your key responsibilities include?

  • Partner with Line 1, Internal Audit and delivery teams to ensure non-duplicative and coordinated assurance

  • Influence senior stakeholders and program sponsors on risk-based decision making

  • Prepare high quality risk reporting for senior leadership, governance forums and regulatory engagement

  • Support continuous improvement of change risk practices, frameworks and methodologies

  • Design and maintain risk assurance strategies and change-portfolio assurance plans

  • Assess and monitor risks across the full change lifecycle – discovery, design, execution, transition and post-implementation

  • Review risk assessments, control effectiveness, test plans and mitigation strategies.

  • Challenge uplift needs across cloud security, IAM, data governance and operational resilience.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in Line 2 risk, change risk, operational risk, cyber risk, or technology risk

  • Strong understanding of risk frameworks and the three lines of defence

  • Experience with technology and cyber uplift programs (e.g., cloud, IAM, data platforms, system integrations)

  • Ability to identify emerging risks across complex change environments

  • Skilled in providing constructive challenge and influencing senior stakeholders

  • Ability to communicate complex risk topics clearly to different levels of the organisation
