Council is seeking applications from enthusiastic motivated individuals for the following position.
ROAD SAFETY AND TRAFFIC OFFICER Re-advertised (Term appointment until 30 June 2025)
The Road Safety and Traffic Officer is responsible for promoting road safety awareness and contributing to improved road safety outcomes by monitoring and analysing traffic and other related data used in the delivery of road safety education pursuant to Local Government Road Safety programs. The role will influence the construction of infrastructure to improve the safety of road users and the management of proposals to control and regulate traffic and road safety (including heavy vehicle access) across the Griffith Local Government Area.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will require Tertiary qualifications in Behavioural Sciences, Communications, Media Studies, Civil Engineering acceptable to the Institute of Engineers Australia, or demonstrated relevant experience, also a current Australian driver licence.

Skills & Knowledge: The successful applicant will require experience in the design, promotion, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of community road safety campaigns reflecting funding guidelines, experience in the analysis of statistical information for traffic engineering and road safety assessment also written and oral communication skills including report writing and the ability to relate to people across a range of backgrounds.
Hours of work: 35 hours per week.
Salary and conditions: Annual salary range $91,244.92 to $100,373.00 (Grade 16) Plus Superannuation and commuter use vehicle.
