BKB Pumping Solutions is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to be based at our Pakenham Production Facility.  

Job Title:        Mechanical Engineer  

Job Description

The role requires a person with a high attention to detail, communication and organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. The primary function of this role is to design and manage the various projects from drawing to despatch. 

Tasks to be undertaken

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Design, organise and oversee the construction, operation, logistics and maintenance of electrical and process plant and installations. 

  • Design and general arrangement of drawings for customer approval. 

  • Prepare GA Drawings for customers (using AutoCAD or SolidWorks) according to the Job Summary Sheet and all other noted requirements.

  • Project scheduling and management. 

  • Ensure that all necessary tasks are undertaken to fulfil the customers’ requirements on specifications and delivery dates. 

  • Provide regular communication to the customer on the project.

  • Responsible for preparing detailed drawings for the manufacture of pump sets. Ensure a productive working relationship is developed with all the Production Team members.

  • Assist with the procurement of goods required to complete the pump set / system.  Ensuring parts are ordered in a timely manner to meet delivery targets.

  • At completion and during the project liaise with the Production team to ensure quality checks are undertaken and despatch is arranged.

  • Establishing work measurement programs and analysing work samples to develop standards for labour utilisation

  • Analysing workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data and production schedules and costs, to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies

  • Designing mechanical equipment, machines, components, products for manufacture, and plant and systems for construction

  • Developing specifications for manufacture, and determining materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities and layout of plant construction and systems

  • Directing the maintenance and coordinating the requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules

The successful applicant will have

  • A Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • At least year work experience in similar field

  • A positive attitude and willing to take on learning and development.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.

  • Experience is dealing with various stakeholders both internally (Production Team, Purchasing Team, Service Team) and external (Suppliers and Customers) is an advantage.

  • Demonstrated experience in the Australian commercial building sector / manufacturing an advantage.

  • Well-developed self-management skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver quality outputs in a timely manner and cost-effective manner.

  • Project management experience preferred.

  • Experience with an ERP is beneficial

  • A high attention to detail.

Salary Offered

$85k to 95k
