As a Seasonal Ocean Lifeguard, you will provide high quality patrol services across Shellharbour City's controlled beaches for the 2024/2025 season.

This role will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including;

  • Supervision of beach customers
  • Identification of suitable swimming and surf craft areas
  • Recognise and respond to aquatic emergencies
  • Carrying out cleaning and maintenance reporting tasks in order to present the beach and immediate surrounds in a clean and tidy conditions
  • Presenting beach/ocean awareness programs as required
  • Supervision of other Beach Lifeguard staff

The 2024/2025 season will run from 28 September 2024 to 25 April 2025 on a roster covering various shifts from Monday to Sunday.

  • Temporary full time from 28 September 2024 to 25 April 2025 on a Monday to Sunday roster
  • 38 hours per week during shoulder season 
  • 42.25 hours per week working a 9 day fortnight during peak season (21 December 2024 to 31 January 2025)
  • Job-share arrangements may be considered
  • Commencing salary from $1268.55 per week plus weekend penalties for work on Saturday/Sunday and public holidays
  • 11.5% superannuation

Please Note: 

  • This position requires a current "Working with Children Check" clearance in accordance with the 'Child Protection (WWC) Act 2012 for Paid workers
  • You will need to complete a Pre-placement Medical Assessment
  • As part of the recruitment process, you will need to pass a Fitness and Skill assessment
