About Us
headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Goulburn and Yass work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.
Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Goulburn and Yass. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.
About The Position
The Mental Health Clinician works collaboratively with a young person and their family/carers to identify support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. They provide high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused interventions.
This position requires working closely with the other members of the headspace Goulburn and Yass teams and external service providers and works to maximise care outcomes for young people referred to headspace.
You can be based at headspace Goulburn or headspace Yass. The position is full-time fixed term until 30 November 2026 with the possibility for extension. Part-time hours may also be considered.
Board approved and discipline specific supervision is also available which will meet the requirements of both the 5+1 pathway to registration or Social Work Mental Health accreditation.
We Are Looking For Someone With
In addition to having passion and experience working with young people, you will also have:
Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist (accredited in mental health), or accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker or willingness to work towards accreditation.Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies.Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people, and their family and friends.
