As Head of Department, you will lead a dedicated team of educators to deliver high-quality learning outcomes, foster a culture of excellence, and support the academic and personal growth of every student.
This is a temporary full-time role for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.

Innisfail State College was established in 2010, comprising of a year 7-12 high school and an Early Childhood Development Program/Prep to year 12 special school called the Diverse Learning Centre. Our campus also hosts the Johnstone TAFE and Community Childcare Centre and Tropical North Queensland TAFE.

About The Role
As Head of Department you will lead Junior student services at Innisfail State College, and you will have responsibility for (but not limited to) the following:
Academic monitoring and interventionSocial and emotional monitoring and interventionBehaviour monitoring and interventionEnrolments and case management of studentsLine management student support staffDevelopment and implementation of alternative learning programs (ALP) and other tier 2 & 3 intervention strategiesOrganisation of year parades, camps, excursions and at school eventsDevelop and implement community engagement strategies and programs with local agencies and businessesEmbed socially just practices in daily school life through leadership in relation to student attendance and improved academic outcomes.
