As the Head of Department (Curriculum) in the Early Years Partnerships and Programs team, you will play a vital role in building the capability of teachers who are delivering a Kindergarten program in Far North region's State Delivered Kindergartens.

In this role, you will have major influence supporting the delivery-of quality curriculum, teaching and learning that is aligned to the early childhood education and care National Quality Framework and values of K-2 pedagogy and practice.

The Head of Department (HoD) - State Delivered Kindergarten support schools with an State Delivered Kindergarten program to review school data and other forms of evidence, to effectively identify kindergarten curriculum priority areas, specifically within the National Quality Standard (NQS) Quality Area 1 - Educational program and practice.

Responsibilities Include

Facilitate data-informed conversations with SDK school leaders and teaching staff to review their data and other forms of evidence to effectively identify kindergarten curriculum priority areas, specifically within the National Quality Standard (NQS) Quality Area 1 - Educational program and practice.Support SDK schools to embed identified kindergarten curriculum priority areas into school performance planning documents and provide mentorship and model teaching practice, where appropriate and required, to support teaching staff with the delivery of a quality kindergarten program.Support (inclusive of developing and leading induction programs) SDK school leaders and teaching staff to identify and utilise quality assured central office resources and professional learning.Partner with SDK colleagues, including Senior Advisors to facilitate local collaboration and support all schools with an SDK program to implement the curriculum in/across regions equitably.Work with regional staff including but not limited to Regional Directors, School supervisors to monitor the implementation and continual improvement of kindergarten curriculum priority areas regularly over the year.

Desirable Requirements

Knowledge and experience with the delivery of the Australian Curriculum in the early years of school, is desirable.Experience with curriculum delivery in a multi-age setting. Professional experience and contemporary knowledge of implementing the QKLG in kindergarten contexts is preferred.
