The Role
MSF Sugar is currently inviting applications for the position of Graduate IT Developer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. This exciting opportunity is based at our Corporate Head Office in Gordonvale (20km south of Cairns CBD).
As a Graduate IT Developer, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and optimising MSF Sugar's IT systems, including supporting iOT initiatives across the business. Reporting to the Group IT Manager, you will work closely with mill operations, cane supply, and corporate teams to deliver reliable system performance, robust data solutions, and accurate reporting across the business.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems, thrives on IT system development, and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The Responsibilities

Assist with developing and supporting iOT integrated solutions

Assist in regulatory and compliance efforts related to data usage and privacy

Maintain existing applications to ensure supportability, optimum performance, and security

Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to safeguard business continuity and system sustainability

Monitor, analyse, and investigate system and data issues, producing reports and liaising with business teams to resolve

Support appropriate change and release procedures

Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of key projects within MSF Sugar

Provide ongoing support to MSF Sugar staff and systems

Design, develop, enhance and integrate applications in compliance with nominated standards
The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience

Proven experience in IT system development and database management

Knowledge of Programming languages like Oracle Forms and Reports, python, C & Pro*C, React or WordPress.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions), Word, and data analysis tools

Knowledge of Oracle Database, PL/SQL, APEX, or similar database systems

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a collaborative team environment

Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise across multiple teams
