About Us

On A Roll Sushi Birtinya is a busy and well-established Japanese restaurant committed to delivering high-quality Japanese cuisine and excellent customer service. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop menus based on customer demand, seasonal ingredients, kitchen capacity, and business requirements.

• Estimate food, labour and operating costs, and assist with ordering and controlling food supplies.

• Prepare, season and cook a variety of Japanese dishes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation.

• Supervise the quality, taste, presentation and portion sizes of all dishes throughout preparation and service.

• Consult with management, kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and menu execution.

• Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance and training to kitchen staff.

• Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations.

• Assist in recruiting, supervising and training kitchen staff when required.

• Monitor the proper storage, freezing and preservation of food to maintain freshness, quality and safety.

• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Chef.

• Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and food safety standards.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent time management and organisational skills.

• A positive attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills.

• A passion for producing high-quality food and maintaining high kitchen standards.
