Your Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader to take up the role of Director, Education and Training.
This role is being offered for the first time, and we are looking for someone who is a passionate advocate for vocational education and training across Queensland and strong stakeholder engagement, internally and externally.
The role is available on a permanent full-time basis, with a base location at TAFE Queensland’s Ipswich or Toowoomba Campus. Travel across the region and State will be required, from time to time.
As The Director, Education And Training, You Will
Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary portfolio including a number of education and training functions and/or Faculties that enables the TAFE Queensland South West Region to meet its business objectives.Collaborate as a key member of the TAFE Queensland South West Region’s Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the achievement of the broader TAFE Queensland vision and ensuring the organisation is a market leader in the provision of high quality education and training in Queensland.
This position reports to the Executive Director, Education and Training and has close working relationships with all members of the Executive Leadership Team.
Salary
Appointment to this role is via an Individual Employment Agreement (IEA) which attracts a Total Remuneration Package (TRP) amount of $191,975.11 (gross) per annum including base salary, superannuation and leave loading.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess the following:
Senior leadership experience in relevant/related setting. Current QLD Driver’s Licence. An appropriate graduate qualification in Education and/or Vocational Training and leadership experience within the VET sector.Ability to hold a Blue Card or Exemption Card to comply with the Working with Children (Risk Management Screening) Act 2000 .
Highly Desirable
Candidates Who Possess The Following Will Be Highly Regarded
Minimum of 5 years of executive leadership, planning, project management and multi-disciplinary team management experience. Ability to hold Yellow Card: Disability Worker Screening Check.

Possession of well-developed negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills as evidenced by the proven ability to influence strategically at a senior level and maintain collaborative working relationships, manage performance and drive a high impact workplace culture.Extensive knowledge of legislative frameworks applicable to the VET sector, and a proven ability to provide pragmatic, innovative and strategic advice to enhance business performance. Demonstrated ability to maximize workforce capability through supportive leadership that rewards excellence, and encourages creativity and innovation. Demonstrated capacity to think conceptually, innovate and analyse complex situations and lead the development and delivery of high-quality support services and business functions which challenge traditional approaches and create competitive advantage in the commercial VET marketplace.
