We are seeking an experienced and professional Information Specialist with a passion for records management.

In this role here are some of your accountabilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the State Records Act 2000 and other appropriate legislation.
  • Lead and supervise the Information Services team, setting appropriate work allocations and priorities to deliver quality day to day operations
  • Provide and deliver induction training for the Electronic Document Records Management System (HP Records Manager) and Information Management compliance education to internal clients.
  • Administer alongside the Business Systems Team the Electronic Document Records Management System to efficiently and effectively manage the Shire's recorded information.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Freedom of Information Act 1992.

Our preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following experience and skillset:

  • Tertiary qualification and/or substantial experience and expertise in all aspects of Records and Archives Management (including relevant legislation).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise staff preferably in a records management environment whilst delivering quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation specifically the Freedom of Information Act, State Records Act, Local Government Act, Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills in the application and administration of automated records management systems with electronic document management.
  • Demonstrated ability to write policies, procedures and reports.
