This is a permanent part-time (0.75FTE) position commencing January 2026

Northam Residential College provides safe, secure and supportive boarding for regional and remote students. We are situated on Inkpen Street, just behind Northam Senior High School offering a place for students to live and learn, have fun and feel at home.

The Role

As the Cook, you will cater for meals at the College and college functions, as required whilst ensuring adequate catering to avoid under catering or excessive catering. The successful applicant will ensure food handling and occupational hygiene practices are in accordance with relevant health and safety guidelines.

The Cook will also ensure stocks are stored safely (protected from vermin), do not accumulate excessively and are utilised quickly whilst ensuring the kitchen, equipment and facilities are hygienically maintained. The successful applicant will possess good interpersonal skills and work effectively with other staff members whilst undertaking mixed functions as required.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of computers, particularly in using email (Outlook) and Microsoft Word. They should be comfortable operating a computer for essential tasks such as menu planning, online ordering, and general communication.
