About the Role

An exceptional opportunity is available within the Health & Regulatory Services Team for a seasoned Compliance professional to lead a team in addressing community enforcement needs. Reporting to the Manager Health & Regulatory Services, this role will support and guide strategic compliance initiatives and educational programs aimed at enhancing community awareness on various compliance matters.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Local Government law enforcement or equivalent skills and knowledge acquired through extensive experience in Compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team including implementation of rosters, and in-depth working knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Successful experience in negotiation, dispute resolution and conflict resolution. Willingness to accept the responsibility of the issuing of respective notices, orders and directions. Management of Council’s After Hours and Call Out services including maintaining rosters.
  • Successful experience in dealing with the Local Court and in Local Government prosecution including the preparation of Briefs of Evidence, Statements of Facts and Contention, and representation of Council at Mentions.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Infringement Process including the issuing of Penalties and the Office of Revenue Process.
  • Class C Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check Clearance.
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or willingness to obtain.
