About the Role
Our Assets, Building & Property Unit at Mornington Peninsula Shire is looking for an energetic and motivated Business Support Officer. This permanent full-time role offers the opportunity to provide high-level administrative support to the Manager, assisting in achieving strategic and operational goals. You will manage correspondence, organize meetings, and support the smooth operation of the unit, which oversees significant maintenance contracts and asset management. The role needs strong administrative experience, proficiency in MS Office, and a proactive approach to handling confidential and sensitive tasks. With a focus on efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding services to the community.
Reporting to the Manager – Assets, Building & Property the core responsibilities include:
- Operational efficiency – monitor and improve operational processes, manage risks, and ensure compliance with policies to enhance the unit’s overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Project coordination – support key projects by managing timelines, coordinating resources and ensuring that initiatives are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Stakeholder management – build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
- Administrative support – provide high-level, confidential administrative assistance to the Manager, including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and ensuring smooth workflow within the unit.
About You
- Demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative support, preferably within local government.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building productive relationships and working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Flexible and proactive approach to handling confidential tasks, with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes.
